Project Manager

Project Manager Job Purpose:  

 

Accomplishes project objectives by planning project activities; evaluating implementation and progress of project.  

 

Project Manager Job Duties: 

 

  • Create and deliver project work plans and revise as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements of both client and business. 
  • Identify resources and assign responsibilities. 
  • Manage day-to-day operational aspects of the project(s). 
  • Competent in project management methodology. 
  • Ensures project documents are complete, current, and appropriately stored. 
  • Ensure delivery of documentation and training to enable adoption of delivered changes by clients. 
  • Works closely with relevant stake holders to ensure effective and efficient implementation of the project(s). 
  • Understands basic revenue models and P/L; meets financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing an annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analysing variances and initiating corrective actions. 
  • Works with developers and designers to define and document questions, liaise with business via email, IM or phone to get new requirements and explain feasibility. 
  • Submits project status reports to stakeholders; reviews bugs; plans software releases; anticipates and reacts to change. 

 
Key Skills/Experience: 

  • Project manager with proven track-record of successfully delivering projects to timeline 
  • Good level of communication and influencing skills and good listener 
  • Builds and maintains effective working relationships with peers and senior colleagues   
  • Broad understanding of the software development process is valuable 
  • Experience of the agile development cycle  
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills 
  • Has a hands-on approach, is delivery focused with an emphasis on practical results 
  • Is collaborative and works in a co-operative way 
  • Able to rationalise potential issues and provide solutions 
  • Can prioritise and plan effectively 
  • Dynamic and fast paced attitude 
  • Can multi-task and is highly organised 
  • Good working knowledge of project lifecycle, agile development techniques and methodologies

Following our rapid expansion, we at uTrack are seeking to find an ambitious and talented Java Developer for our office in Dublin. Reporting directly to the CTO the role would be ideal for someone looking to join a dynamic, nimble and successful IT Company that enjoys an enviable client base and has won multiple awards in the relatively short time it has been trading.

Responsibilities

  • The role involves Designing/ Architecting new applications/application modules (including changes to existing applications) for delivering agreed functional requirements and non functional requirements
  • The role will ensure that all changes are such that the applications are supportable, maintainable, and scalable.
  • The role will define the best practice across the applications in development, in addition to driving the technical alignment within the Company
  • The role will guide the development team members working in support.
  • Review all new requirements and ensure apt non-functional requirements are defined as part of the requirement definitions
  • Ensure that all projects are delivered to high, production ready, standard with full involvement from stakeholders, clients and team members.
  • Read and interpret business requirements and specification documents
  • Provide technical support to teams for production issues
  • Support system maintenance upgrades and bug fixes
  • Occasionally review the technical solutions /designs to ensure that the solution is designed for high availability, high scalability and easier maintenance.

Skills and Experience

  • Experience of working in a high pressure environment and end to end software development
  • Experience in dealing with global stakeholders across multiple functions.
  • Robust design skills, good understanding of Design patterns
  • 3 to 5 years’ experience in Java, Spring, Web design, SQL and Perl technologies/languages.
  • Track record in working in global environments
  • Understanding of overall IT infrastructure stack and using agile technology
  • Strong communication skills. Fluent oral and written English
